I bought the tickets in May.  In some ways, they were tickets I've wanted for a long time.

For one reason or another, I never made it to a show.

Thankfully, Fleetwood Mac set out on (what I assume is) one last tour.

My friend Andy agreed to go to the October show.  Seats were secured.  Parking pass purchased.  All we had to do was wait.

Just as we deal with many things in life - it is the anticipation that puts it over the top.  Add to the mix seeing a long-time friend for the time in two and a half decades, there was a lot to anticipate.

It was a Sunday show.  The Packers were playing.  We left early to find a place to watch the game near Milwaukee, then drive downtown.

We walked the stairs of the parking ramp to see the front of the Fiserve Forum in all its grandeur.  Once inside, we headed to the Panorama Club (open to anyone with a ticket) to look over the Milwaukee skyline.  Our seats were in the third row on the third level, about a basketball court from the stage.  The sound in Forum is fantastic - something the ownership group emphasized during its planning and construction.

On the drive home, we talked about the show and the members of the group who defined Fleetwood Mac.  Mick Fleetwood, John McVie (two founding members whose last names make up the group's name), Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Lindsey Buckingham.  New members of the band - Neil Finn (formerly of Crowded House) and Mike Campbell (part of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) replaced Buckingham - Finn on vocals and Campbell on guitar.

We enjoyed the show.  I liked looking back 41 years through the telescope of music.  It was worth every penny; loved every minute; and bought the $40 concert t-shirt.

Halloween was a pretty nice evening for trick or treating.  However, the ghouls and boys were apparently spending it in other parts of town.

We welcomed just 12 kids over three hours.

That means there were a lot of candy leftovers.  It is a good thing we bought candy we liked!

I'm pretty sure we had only a dozen or so kids last year which was much colder and wetter.  At this rate, we could spring for those king-sized candy bars.

Funny thing - everyone I've talked to had few or no kids ring their doorbell either.

Maybe Halloween parties or trunk or treat events are carrying the day.  For several years, while we lived in secured apartment buildings, we weren't handing out candy.  Since getting our own place again, it is still quiet on All Hallows Eve.

Just a little more than a decade ago, when we lived in Augusta, Wisconsin and the boys were young - I had to move a chair near the front door because I didn't have time to walk back and forth from the door to the chair because of so many trick or treaters.

At this rate, pretty soon we won't need to buy any extra candy.

I hope you ended up with candy you like in your jack o' lantern!  Have a great week.
