Packer Post-Op - Los Angeles Rams

It was an unusual day watching the Green Bay Packers yesterday - I was on the road and took in the game from a booth in the Brookfield, Wisconsin Buffalo Wild Wings.

The experts in the desert installed the Los Angeles Rams as a 9.5 point favorite over the Packers.

Thankfully, my Packers didn't put any stock in that forecast as they played what was arguably their most complete game so far this season.

The defense played tough, controlled the run, and harassed the quarterback throughout the game against one of the best offensive attacks in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packer offense moved the ball and accept for a couple instances where they settled for field goals instead of touchdowns did a good job.

It was fun to watch.

My friend and fellow Green Bay fan watching the game with me kept wondering when it was going to turn south for the Pack, but thrilled as they hung in there throughout the contest.

Just over two minutes were left in the game when the Rams took a two point lead on a field goal and prepared to kick off.

I liked our chances for Aaron Rodgers with two minutes on the clock to get the team into range for a winning Mason Crosby kick.

Alas, for some reason Ty Montgomery ran the kick out of the end zone despite instructions from the coach to stay in the end zone so the ball would be placed at the 25.  Instead Montgomery made it as far as the 20 where a Ram tackler hit the football out of his hands.  L.A. recovered the loose ball. Rodgers & Company didn't leave the sideline.

Final score, LA Rams 29, Green Bay Packers 27.

Except for the score, it seemed like the team moved in the right direction Sunday; I guess we will see if it really did when they fly to New England next Sunday.

The Pack is now 3 - 3 - 1 on the season and in need of a victory.

I'm also needing to extend a special birthday greeting before I close... Happy Birthday to my sister.. go Pack, go!
