One reason we treasure autumn so much is that we know the season waiting around the corner.

This is the time to squeeze as many days outside as we can.

Recently, we spent a couple hours breathing in the autumn air.

Schuster's Farm is part farm and part playground.  It's east of Madison on U.S. Highway 12.

You can buy pumpkins, maize, and honey.

I ate two warm cider doughnuts for $.90 each... delicious!
These spots are great for families and city folk who want to get close to a part of society we don't know much about.

Most of the time you can't drive to a farm to see the animals or look over the crops while they grow.  In the fall, a year's worth of work crosses the finish line; think of your farm visit as place to celebrate the win.
Pumpkins and corn stalks are instant
reminders that its harvest time.

Jump into fall.  It is a season with an attitude.  It might last til Thanksgiving, or there could be snow by Halloween.

If you want a taste of fall, but can do without an agricultural amusement park, there are plenty of options.

Orchards are beautiful right now.  Branches of apples add a welcome touch of color amidst the orange, yellow, and green.

My favorite fall taste is fresh squeezed apple cider.

This is the good stuff.  It has a hearty quality - like biting a liquid apple.

Maybe your thing is collecting autumn leaves or arranging squash and pumpkins in a cornucopia.

You can find them and a lot of fall fun.... out on the farm.
