Solo - A Star Wars Story

It took longer than I expected to see "Solo - A Star Wars Story."  It hadn't received great reviews and is way behind the typical box office receipts usually associated with this franchise.

After seeing it, I don't understand why.

It's fun - a thrill ride, popcorn chomping film with action from beginning to end.

Han Solo is the focus of the movie, but we learn a lot about his faithful friend Chewbacca; see the beginning of the rebellion; and meet a character who plays a big part in a Star Wars movie down the road.

"Solo" fits the movie timeline between Star Wars Episode III and the Rogue One movie which came out a few years ago that added more context to Star Wars - A New Hope.

The movie has probably already left your local theater.  When I went, it was only being shown three times a day.

It was fascinating to learn how Han got his name and the where and how of Chewy's piloting expertise.  Pay attention, or those details could pass you in a parsec.

Woody Harrelson and Donald Glover, Jr take their place in the Star Wars universe with this film - I thought they did a nice job.

If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it - especially if you like Star Wars.
