My Week That Was - June 30

A ride on the Colsac III carferry is welcome in
any week.  6/23/2018   dwm photo
Last Saturday we took a quick trip to Wisconsin Dells to check out one of the state's Historic Sites, the H H Bennett Studio, and a couple State Parks.

Surprisingly, while the Dells were busy - it wasn't a nightmare in terms of traffic and we found reasonably priced parking near the studio downtown and were able to get around easily.

On the way home, we crossed the Wisconsin River on the Colsac III.  It is always nice to take a break to enjoy the short boat trip.

Wednesday, I made a return trip to the Duck Pond to see the Mallards play the Rockford Rivets.  It was Senior Day, and I went with a group from Oakwood.

We had a great time and watched an entertaining game with several lead changes.  The home-town team won 14 - 12 after trailing 4 - 1 in the second and 12 - 7 in the sixth.

Better than the game was getting to know several residents a lot better.

Friday was different than usual.

I took the morning off to resume my ride to the Bucky Badger figures around Madison.

The forecast for Friday was rapidly warming temperatures and rising humidity, so I left early.

Because many of the remaining Buckys on my list were on the isthmus and near the Capitol, I thought it made more sense to ride the area on a normal workday than a crowded Saturday morning with  the weekly Farmer's Market on Capitol Square.

It was a wonderful ride, and finishing the workweek with four hours in the afternoon was a nice twist on the usual routine.
