My Week That Was - May 26

The completed Wedding Braid

This week began where the last one left off, with more wedding festivities.

This time the reception was in Michigan.  It was a progressive wedding, I guess you might say, with events in different places.

Our drive over included a stop at a Michigan covered bridge (my third, but you won't see that or the other bridge blogs until next spring).

The wedding reception was wonderful.  The bride and groom hardly left the dance floor after rounds of appropriately funny and reflective toasts and a fantastic dinner.

The wedding unites two families of much different sizes.  Ours is quite small with just a couple siblings for the groom's parents, while the bride's parents have multiple siblings of each.  It was quite the family affair at the party.

After the reception and morning-after gift reveal; we were on a short vacation with a long way home.  We trekked to northern Michigan before driving south along the western shore - stopping to take pictures of five lighthouses that we missed on a trip last fall.

There was a ferry ride across Lake Michigan (there will be a blog about that in the next few weeks) and four more Wisconsin lighthouses before getting home.

The repeated trips into the Eastern time zone affected my sleep - getting to work Tuesday morning with too much sleep still in my eyes.  Hopefully by the time you read this I'm back to "normal" levels of sleep deprivation.

But it was worth it.  I hope your week was too.
