Christmas Eve Day is just 7 short days in the future... are you ready?

Gifts?  check
Dinner menu?  check
House cleaned?  check

But are you really ready for Christmas?

All of the goods and goodies surrounding the holiday are wonderful.  Important, even.

Family and friends around the table are a vital component of most Christmas celebrations.

A tree - real or pretend - is nice too.

But as crucial to the holiday as all these things are - without the single most important thing - they are useless.

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you; you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.  Luke 2: 11 - 12 NIV

As you rush around these next seven days attending to a variety of details and last-minute shopping; I hope all of us remember that without the Messiah, the Lord, the Babe of Bethlehem it doesn't mean a thing.
