Into the Verona Woods

There's a new restaurant in town named The Verona Woods.

It's a casual - fine dining place new in the community which seems to fit an under-served niche in Verona.

It's spot is in a new developing area of the city right off Highway 18/151 ensconced in a building suitable for retail and offices.

Going up across the street is a motel and future development in the area includes a hotel and movie theater.

I think this place will do just fine.

Ciabatta Chicken Sandwich

The owner's quoted as describing the place as casual - fine dining.

After trying it out, I'd agree. There's a nice, well-appointed bar and a beautiful interior with an understated motif of leaves and wonderful, brilliant photos of woods.

The forest pictures help, because the nearest woods are at least a half-mile away.

The service was good - the kind I'd expect at a fine dining establishment.

I ordered from the "lighter fair" menu.  Yes, it read fair - which is actually wrong.  It should be "fare."

Inside The Verona Woods

Spelling error aside, the sandwich tasted great.

Grilled Chicken Breast with mozzarella and colby cheese topped with tomato, red onion, and dressed arugula on a toasted ciabatta bun.

The flavors of the cheese melt together into a wonderful combination over a nicely grilled (healthy, right? or healthier than fried anyway) breast of chicken.

It's an extensive menu - good for a special night out or just any night.  It's not cheap, but not too pricey either.  We're going back - you should try The Verona Woods too.
