Bucky's Tears

38 - 31, Penn State is the surprising B1G Champion in an exciting game of highs and lows for the Wisconsin Badgers.

My Fearless Forecast posted September 3 had Bucky with 10 wins awaiting the representative of the B1G East Division for the conference title.

Yes, I'm surprised I had the correct record, although not the correct losses.

It was a great season for Wisconsin, but sadly disappointing because of how far they came and how close they were to reaching "The College Football Playoff."

The way the Badgers shot out of the gate, charging to a 28 - 7 lead.  A late first half touchdown by the Nittany Lions were a cause for concern, but the way this team has responded to adversity all season with an even keel approach had me liking our chances for victory.

When Bucky couldn't score on the first drive of the second half, and Penn State scored quickly to narrow the game to 7 points, it already felt like we were tied and maybe trailing.

From there, Wisconsin couldn't recover momentum and Penn State was the better team at the end of the day.  Congratulations to Penn State.

These Badgers out-played all expectations and have one more game to play.

Coach Paul Chryst continues to lead this team the right way, and I believe their best days are still ahead.

Thanks for the fun ride, gentlemen.  Let's Go, Badgers!

Meanwhile, Wisconsin fans can enjoy the Women's Volleyball team in the NCAA Sweet 16; a top ranked women's hockey team; and a top-notch men's basketball squad.  It's good to be a Badger!
