How's Treats?

Tomorrow bring's All Hallow's Eve and the annual march from house to house begging for candy.

In your community it might be tonight or maybe it was last night already.

For the little ones, it can be a great time of make believe and adventure.  Folks at home to open doors while on alert for ghosts, goblins, Trumps, Clintons, GI-Joe, and characters from Star Wars..

What's in your bucket this year?

Did you go for big bags of inexpensive candy from the Big Box store?

Maybe fun size versions of brand name candy bars are in store for the wandering thespians.

Jumbo, full size, or even king-sized treats could make your door the most popular on the block, even if you reserve those special treats for the neighbors.

It's kind of fun answering the door and look into the excited and sometimes anxious eyes of little ones while mom or dad watch from 10 feet away.  When the kids standing at your door are junior high or older, well, it's not the same.

As a picky, plastic pumpkin carrying trick or treater, I recall having a difficult time seeing through the plastic mask which scraped against my face.  Frankly, it was a good night if I made it home without falling.

Dad and I would sit on the couch when we were done and check our harvest.  I grabbed the Tootsie Rolls, Tootsie Pops, and chocolate bars while Dad and Mom split the rest.

For those cute little girls and boys this year, follow your script in this little play - react to their costumes, give them a compliment, and a nice Halloween treat.  If you do, you will probably enjoy the evening as much as those kids.
