Autumn Arrives, Leaves Fall

The changing seasons are one of the best things about living in the northern half of the country.

Each season rings in something new - winter, spring, and summer - but autumn is my favorite.

Fall Favorites
Colorful leaves blanketing the countryside
Fresh squeezed apple cider
Sparks from a bonfire
Crunching and crackling underfoot.

Football
Play-off baseball
Raking.  Wait, maybe watching people rake
Waning daylight
Crispness in the air.
God's creation with a colorful, dynamic display before a season of slumber.

Autumn leaves
Fall might be missed,
It's not different than the day before.
Wasn't it 80 just a couple days ago?

Sun in my eyes driving to work
Jackets out of the closet
Scrambling to do just one more thing outdoors

Leaves burst.
Fall
And swept away

Treasure the color
Soak in the sun
It won't be long till... autumn leaves
