Wayne's Drive In

It looks a bit like Al's Drive In where Fonzie, Rich, Potsi, and Ralph hung out around the juke box.

In fact, it's Wayne's on the west side of Cedarburg and the juke box went on in 1999.

It's less than a mile from the Last Covered Bridge, so it is a perfect place to pick up some food to enjoy on a picnic table by the bridge or include the Drive In experience on your way to or from the bridge.

The car hop service on roller skates delivers your meal every Thursday, but you aren't missing the classic diner when you walk in.

The black and white checked floor, the juke box, the menu, and the friendly service give the impression you'll see women walk in wearing saddle shoes and poodle skirts.

I opted for a hot dog with Root Beer and I must say the dog was worth it.

Cedarburg has a wonderful downtown with vintage buildings and delightful shops.  There's an ice cream shop in town serving Cedar Crest Ice Cream which is made in Cedarburg.  (I can't believe I somehow didn't get in the doors there!)

Downtown Cedarburg - especially the Cedarburg Popcorn Company (Cookie and Cream popcorn!) - are worth your time and you'll be glad you visited.

But your trip to this great community a bit north of Milwaukee can't be complete until you check out the bridge and grab some grub at Wayne's Drive In.
