Green Bay Packers 4.0

Did you see the throw?

That long pass from Aaron downfield almost, but not too far out-of-bounds where James Jones plucked it, tapped his feet three times and stepped over the boundary with ball firmly in hand.

Magnificent.  It was an impressive feat of timing, accuracy, and precision on both ends of the play.

Just one pass by Aaron Rodgers put 7 points on the board.  The first quarter scoring pass to Richard Rodgers (for those who may not be football fans, this Richard Rodgers is a tight end, not part of the famous duo with Mr. Hammerstein) in the end zone was part of Mr. Rodger's quarterback clinic on buying time in the pocket while waiting for a receiver to break clear.

An outstanding performance by the Green Bay defense held the formerly mighty 49ers to 3 points. Six tackles of the San Francisco QB behind his line of scrimmage was one less of the sack total against Kansas City last Monday.

Which brings us to 4.0.  As in 4 wins and 0 losses and a quarter way through the season Green Bay is unbeaten, yet far from perfect.

There are injured players working in rehab to get back into the line-up.  Coaches identify plays which missed and player techniques to refine.

Next Sunday, the Rams drive up from St. Louis for a noon game in Titletown.  St. Louis comes in with a fearsome defensive front four and linebackers who just took down an unbeaten Arizona team on their home field.  Packer fans can't be looking ahead - this next Sunday becomes the most important on the schedule.

But, back here in fan-land - this is fun.  Exciting to watch our favorite team overcome adversity and thrilled by the exploits of one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

Buckle up, Packer fans - we've only just begun!  Go Pack!
