Packers Memo - Bye! 6 and Oh Yeah!

27 - 20 with the outcome not decided until just :15 seconds remained on the clock.

If fans feel like a washcloth that's been wrung out for the 59th time... I can only imagine what the players felt like at game's end.

They probably needed help getting the jerseys over their head last night.  (I know I did.)

I believe as the season goes on, yesterday's win will become one of the major building blocks of the season.

There were several moments when this game could have been lost.  The defense was on the field nearly three times as long as the offense, but they kept coming - kept playing - lining up and giving their best.

Rookie cornerback Damarious Randall was beat early in the game, but knocked away the 4th down, last gasp pass heading right for the waiting hands of Charger's running back Danny Woodhead which sealed the win.  Old pro Julius Peppers applied crucial pressure in the face of Phillip Rivers who wanted to complete one more of his 65 passes.

T.J. Lang, the Packers right guard who was hurt last week but returned to play the whole game recovered an Eddie Lacy fumble on the series after the Chargers cut the Packer lead to 4.

Second year receiver Jeff Janis, in his first meaningful offensive snaps turned in two outstanding receptions.

Next weekend there will be no Packer football, so I don't know what I'm going to do.  There will be lots of Packer fans looking for ways to fill 3 and 1/2 hours.

There are ten games left in the regular season and the Packers have the fast start they were hoping to achieve when the season began.

The coaches will use the break to analyze what's worked and why as well as what hasn't worked and why not.  The players get a week to rest, recover, and get ready for long run to the finish line.

Next up, the first Sunday night in November where they'll find the undefeated Denver Broncos waiting.   Go Pack, Go!
