Brewers Win!

It's been a difficult year for the Brew Crew.

That's putting it mildly.  48 wins, 65 losses.

The St. Louis Cardinals, the class of the division and the team Milwaukee is trying to emulate, 71 - 40.

Milwaukee lost the first two games of the three-game set going into Sunday's finale.  All too often this year, the Brewers find themselves trying to get one of three.   No, not the kind of season anyone envisioned.

Jacking a homer run out to right field, Elian Herrara hit his fifth home run to put the Crew on top.  That's the ball just below the top edge of the frame.

It was nice to have something to cheer about.  The Brewers went up 3 - 0, but the Cardinals caught up, eventually taking a one-run lead going into the 8th inning.  Khris Davis (below right) hit his second four-bagger, this time with a man on and the Brewers took the lead.  Go Brewers, Go!

Looking up at the rest of the division is tough on a fan base.  It's tough to watch, especially when hopes were high.  Granted, the hopes may not have been realistic, but fans don't need to be that "real."

You have other things to keep your attention during a ballgame.  Mr. Brat was in the parking lot before the game visiting family members and fans.  If you don't grill him too much; he usually relishes the opportunity to take a picture.

The Brewers started the season poorly - losing 2/3rds of the time over the first two months.  It's difficult to recover from that start.  The manager Ron Roenecke was fired replaced by Craig Counsell.

Counsell grew up around the team since his dad worked for the Brewers.  He played in the majors - mostly as a utility infielder - and was part of two World Series-winning teams.  Under his leadership the team is close to .500.

At the end of July the team started looking ahead to 2016 and beyond - trading Carlos Gomez, Gerrado Parra, and Aramis Ramirez.  Younger players are in the line-up and young arms getting a try throwing from a Major League mound.

Davis' home run held up thanks to Francisco Rodriguez's 26th save. Frankie is perfect on the year.  He likes Milwaukee and talks openly about hoping he can finish his career with the Brewers.  He's an experienced veteran who might be perfect to round out the young arms with the benefit of his experience.

The season is pretty much over as far as results go.  They're playing for the future.

But the fans walking in the gate still want to see a good product.  Hustle on every play and the best effort put forth.  As a long-time fan, I feel I can forgive almost any mistake from a player who is putting it all on the line.

Klement's Racing Sausages are something to look forward to in the middle of the sixth inning.

If the scoreboard is lopsided in the wrong direction - enjoy the views in beautiful Miller Park and take in some of the quality food available.

As fans of the neighboring team to the south reminds us for a long time, "Wait 'till next year!"
