This is a Holiday?

It's considered "All or Nothing Day" by the Holiday Insights website.  They also acknowledge it as "Aunt or Uncle" and "Parents" day as well.

Parents Day was given some formal footing by President Clinton in 1994 as always falling on the fourth Sunday of July.

My, my - I hope you had your shopping done for the aunts and uncles in your life.  On the other hand, you may have some presents coming your way today.  Alas, my mailbox yesterday lacked any appropriate greeting cards.  I'll live.

Judgement should not be rendered about the non-gifting of parents today.  It's not about that.  The days for gifting our parents is Father's or Mother's Day.  If you choose to celebrate your parents, it's in order to spend time with them.  I think they, and you, will like it too.

If deciding what to do for All or Nothing day has you stumped - it seems pretty clear it's either the sky is the limit or a complete wash-out.  However, the origins of this day are so poorly tracked, it feels like it's completely made up.

Looking for a reason to celebrate is something worth applause, of course.  We don't need a website to direct our vision or party-planning - there is probably something in your house or your neighborhood worth a party or a friendly beverage.

You and I get consumed by the day to day and the rush to the next thing; perhaps our "all or nothing" should be appreciating family (parents, aunts, and uncles?) and friends as well as enjoying all the moments and days of our lives.

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24
