Patriot's Day

Outside the Northeast, most of us didn't pay a lot of attention to Patriot's Day.

Until 2013, then we paid attention.

My attention was caught because of a new or innovative way the folks out east recognized the Battle of Lexington and Concord - the skirmish the represented an opening pitch in the American Revolution.

Jarring all of us was the horrendous act of cowardly terrorism that killed 3 and injured 264.

It happened in a double bombing, triggered via remote control not far from the finish line of the Boston Marathon, which is a big part of Patriot's Day.  The Red Sox host an early baseball game that usually ends in time for folks to make their way to recognize those finishing.

Last year was a resolute return to the running tradition with determination to continue the traditions we hold dear.  Earlier this month, the surviving brother accused with the act was found guilty in Federal Court.

Yet, it's not a closed book on the tragic story yet.  The story continues in the hearts and minds of the injured who continue to recover and the families of victims who carry on.

Let's all be Bostonstrong.
