On the Bench

Now is a pretty good time to sit outside.

The grass is green and trees are springing to life.

From the bench it seems like the world is going past.

Many are so caught up with life passing they miss some crucial points in time.

Just look at today for example.

It's Richter Scale Day - celebrating the birth of Charles Richter, who brought us the way we measure earthquakes.  It's also National Pretzel Day and who wouldn't want to slather a hot, soft pretzel slathered in mustard during a very minor earthquake?

Last, but not least - it's the day to Hug an Australian.  If you get up from the bench to put another shrimp on the barbie, it will help you toward having a "G'day!"

Yet to come or more days to celebrate - tomorrow is Babe Ruth; Tell a Story; and National Prime Rib Day - and you can't afford to let days like that slide past your perch.

So, get off the bench.  Get into the game.  Or go to the game.  Get a pretzel.  Feel the earth.  Move.  Down Under your feet.

Down under - get it?

At this point you want off the bench just to get away from your neighborhood blogger!
