Winter Melting

It's amazing how fast snow melts.  There are only random piles left on shady sides of hills; the north sides of houses; and the large hills of snow gathered by plows.

Madison's weather for the past week was exceptional.  Temperatures in the 50s and low 60s with a lot of sunshine put smiles on faces and warmed our hearts.

Joggers and bicyclists are getting on the paths and roads to fire up some muscles that couldn't stretch out very much with inside workouts.

If you look real close there are some buds showing up on trees and some brave flowers poking their heads out of the ground a bit prematurely.

Like the first snow of winter, the first signs of spring help our minds turn our internal calendars to birds, flowers, planting, and more life spent outside.

Yet, this still feels like a tease.  Some of these warm days and green-up will hide behind a curtain of white sometime during the next month.

But, there is no mistake - spring is imminent.  In fact, we receive if for real next Friday at 5:45pm.
