In the Air

There is something different outside today.

It's in the air - a different feel.  It's spring-like.

Maybe it's not spring.  Not yet, anyway.  But, it's coming.  Soon.

Just last week, I noticed how the growing strength of the sun was still melting snow with temperatures in single digits.  Temps in the 30s (and 40s) are putting smiles on faces around here - it's like the Packers won the Super Bowl.

Ice is still going to hang around with cold nights and warm days.  We will experience potholes blooming like violets, long before those little lavender flowers poke out of the ground.

Large piles of snow will be with us for weeks, and likely have more added to them before April arrives with its showers.  That's OK, we've turned the corner on the cold that turns up our collars, forces muffs on ears, and hands into pockets.

You and I can celebrate the impending coming of spring.  One sign you may not notice is that sap in Maple trees will start to run as days warm.  The best time to collect sap is during this next month with its warm days and cold night (below 32).

I'm hoping to visit a sugar bush sometime in the next couple of weeks, its been a while since checking one out and would be a fun blog.

Get out there and makes some snowballs before its too late!
