30 Years

On this date back in 1985, the year 2015 seemed a very long way away.

As it would to any 21 year old who you might ask to imagine their life and their circumstances 30 years in the future.

Two children, both now grown and out of the nest, working and doing well on their own.

While living in four states; in six cities; in twelve different places; with three careers and too many jobs between us to count.

But those are only a few ways to measure thirty years of marriage.

While the road took more twists in the road than we could imagine as we stood in front of friends and family at the front of Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa - it's been a blessed journey of a lifetime.

We've been blessed with two good sons who are healthy and have been blessed with good health and recovery during times of illness.

There were two terms of unemployment we couldn't foresee back then, but I guess that is what the phrase "or poorer" was all about.

Similar to a boat ride across the ocean, the ride may not always be on calm seas under clear skies, but we are blessed to have traveled this far.

Thank you, honey - Happy Anniversary!
