Pardon Me?

Excuse me, did you know it's Pardon Day today?

Yes, it is.  Apparently it's been part of September the 8th for some time.

Since it's also a Monday - the first day of the "traditional" work week - the occasion seems even more appropriate.

In our familiar work places, we might forget to say please, thank you, and your welcome.

Before interrupting a colleague's conversation - if it's urgent (if not, please wait) - be sure to say "Pardon me" or "Excuse me."

Even more than where we work - setting an example of politeness is a great way to teach others in the home proper etiquette by example.  We frequently feel so pressed for time that those niceties go out the window.

Bring them back.

Also, like the sunshine breaking through the darkness, you can use today to ask someone's pardon for a slight or wrong you may have committed against them.  Say thank you for a kind act that you rushed past previously or apologize for not recognizing a co-worker's good work.

Asking someone's pardon requires us to humble ourselves in asking them to excuse a transgression.

When we receive a pardon - it's a clean slate and a do-over.  And there is really no better way to start the week!
