Autumn's Here

As each season rolls around, I've been trying to mark the occasion with some verse or thoughts about the ever-moving calendar.

Welcome to Autumn, 2014.

Autumn creeps in the side door,
Unless you know where to look - you'll miss it.
Tonight, we begin to fall again,
Usually the air becomes crisp, leaves change hue
Minutes change from day to darkness;
Next is winter, summer is gone, fall is fleeting.

Fantastic colors
Abundant reds, yellows, and orange
Linger on branches - float thru the air
Leaving leaves, leaving summer, the cycle continues.

The autumnal equinox officially took place at 9:29PM Monday, September 22.  The equator has passed the center of the sun and for those living north of the equator - summer is past.
