Madison Sourdough

It was our first time eating breakfast at the Madison Sourdough Company over the last weekend.

The bakery and cafe does a lot of business baking bread for restaurants and stores in the area, plus what they sell from their front counter.

That's what brought us inside their doors in the first place, but when a menu caught my attention it was easy to decide on a further look.

That's not a scoop of ice cream in the picture to the right - it's vanilla whipping cream.

I ordered their Sourdough French toast with the vanilla whipping cream and strawberry - balsamic compote.

It was worth waiting for the kitchen creation.

While I waited I was able to swim a couple of laps in the small pool of Hot Chocolate served with a frothy topping.
The French Toast was amazing!  Nothing else was necessary.  The whipping cream with the strawberries played a delicious symphony with the bread which was a perfect blend of crunchy crust and soft and fluffy bread.

It was worth the wait.

If you are more of a grab and go person - their display case has morning and cinnamon rolls; scones and danish pastries.

And the bread is a food group all by itself.

Madison Sourdough Company is another of Madison's gems on Williamson Street.
