Go Pack, Control Your (Our) Destiny!

In one of the most exciting games I have ever seen, the Packers stormed back to beat the Cowboys last Sunday in Dallas.

A sleeping offense and defense seemed to wake from their slumber, slam down some Mt. Dew, and play the best 30 minutes of their season.

So far.

Thanks to the Detroit Lions falling to the Baltimore Ravens this past Monday, the Packers are a half-game back of Chicago with a game today at home with Pittsburgh and the final regular season game in Chicago on the 29th.

The Packers win today and next week - they win the North Division again and move into the playoffs.

It's been a water in the face kind of season for lots of Green Bay fans.  Twenty years of winning can do that to a fanbase - giving you a satisified and entitled feeling when it comes to dessert after every season.

There was a good twenty year stretch prior to that with only two playoff seasons, and those were the exception for teams that played hard but couldn't get enough victories.

After seven games without #12 behind center and enough men on the injured list to open a Packer wing in the Green Bay hospital; it's time to close the season strong and see what might happen in January.

It's probably a wise move to keep Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines, so here's an opportunity for Matt Flynn to get a third straight victory.  And, I hope someone lets him know he doesn't need to create extra drama with a slow start.

This is what they call, "controlling your own destiny."  Actually, I'm not sure that's possible, but the idea is with two wins to end the season the Packers finish with a better record than the Bears, Lions, and Vikings.  Oh, my.

Today, at 3:25 on Lambeau Field - we'll see if the guys who wore green and gold in the second half last week are still on the team.  I believe they are - Go Pack, Go!
