Where is Heaven?

In the movie Field of Dreams, the former ballplayer who came out of the corn asks Ray (the farmer who built the field and is the player's son) if this (the field) is heaven.  "No," comes the reply, "it's Iowa."

Well the Epic campus is certainly not in Iowa, but on some rolling hills that set upon glacial till in southwest Dane County, Wisconsin.  And among the buildings there is one called Heaven.

It is a building with a lot of offices and a big circular aluminum tube that acts as a slide from the second down to the first floor.  Our guide said when he returned home from his first day on the job, the only thing is daughter wondered was how many times he went down the slide.  I'll admit, it looked like fun.

As we walked toward heaven with our group - lots of thoughts went through my head.  I wondered how a computer software company would envision heaven.  Well, with slides, an oversize rocking horse, and lots of real cool colors that gave a peaceful feel.  It also had a floor plan - which made me think, will there be any kind of directory in heaven?  Maybe an electronic style guide directing to the subdivision populated with Old and New Testament prophets... a cul-de-sac for the disciples (near a lake for the former fishermen, perhaps).

I'm sure no matter what our minds might conjure - we will be immediately amazed at how inadequate were our wildest imagination.

The door back into the software building was beautiful - I noticed it wasn't a Narrow gate.

No, this place - nice as it is - is not heaven.  Even if it's the best place on earth, which I doubt... it's still not heaven.

There are many descriptions to be found in the Scriptures - I like this one in Matthew that describes a great feast.

Matthew 22

“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, and sent his servants[a] to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’ But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.’ 10 And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 “But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the attendants, ‘Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.”

I look to see you at the dinner - and isn't it nice we didn't have to pay the price of admission?
