Step Right Up!

Walking down State Street in Madison last week - the stark blue and red on white sign caught my eye.

Tours Daily.

Free Admission.

So, what's up with this?

One look at the building indicates it's not very big - but it's "World Famous!"

With a, "we've got nothing to lose" shrug, we walk inside.  The manager welcomes us inside.

"We're here for the tour."

"Oh, welcome - sorry, though, the guided tours are only available at 7am."

Sigh.

"Bur, we do have self-guided tours.  Just grab a brochure on the counter and take the tour."

Smile.  OK.

We grab the brochure - there it is - the World Famous Triangle Market.  First, we go up one aisle - past the selection of soup and cereal.  Take a turn where the short aisle runs into the dairy case and then back down the center aisle where other canned and dried foods await to be plucked.  Back to the register, it's a sharp, almost 180 degree turn and back up the third aisle.

We pass the detergent, the brooms, cleaning supplies, and there it is.... the back door.

The tour over, we thank the manager, decide to be "green," and return the tour map to the counter.

Smiling, I take out my bucket list and place a big check mark next to the Triangle Market.
