E.T.

21 years ago we were introduced to the Extra Terrestrial.  My, where does the time go?

The movie seems so quaint now, doesn't it?  A kid befriending a rather odd-looking alien from outer space who only wants to go home.

Maybe, as much as we remember the movie, if you're like me, you also recall the movie for introducing us to Drew Barrymore.  The little sister stole much of the show and her famous family's talent was on display for a new generation.

Just like ET, there are many times we would like to go home or at least phone home, aren't there?

It seems, however, that the place we call home can change depending on the moments.

Looking for a re-assuring hug or the friendly smile of our best friend on a lonely day - that trip 'home' comes in handy to remind us that even on our worst days - there are people who like us.  It can be a trip back to the kitchen table eating cookies while mom makes supper, or shooting hoops in the driveway with the friends next door.

Yet, home doesn't have to be so elusive.  While it can seem to only exist in corners of our mind from time to time - there are other moments it's in full technicolor, high-definition, on a wide-screen.

Frequently, maybe more often than we notice, those 'home' moments happen in front of our eyes without us realizing their significance.

Like the song says, someday - these will be the good ol' days.

So... find the joy around you, take a snapshot or video to re-live later, and keep adding on to the home you carry around in your heart and soul.

It's true... you can go home again!
