Finding a Home

It took a while, but we've found a church home in Madison.

Lutheran Church of the Living Christ is on the city's west - side and is a fairly new congregation - opening in the mid 1980s.

Although we moved to MadCity in August - we visited a number of churches and never quite felt at home.

When we came to worship here in early January, we were warmly welcomed and it was impressive when Pastor Dan remembered our names when he saw us later that day.  Other members came over to introduce themselves, and as we learned about some of the ministry programs, Bible Studies, and fellowship opportunities it has seemed like a good fit.

Part of the difficulty in finding a new church home was leaving the church that was home to us back in Indiana.  Mt Olive Lutheran Church in Greenwood couldn't be replicated in Cheese Country, but that didn't keep us from looking the same kind of mix of friendly people, strong leadership, and a wonderful pastoral leader - Pastor Jeff.

At this point, the Madison church isn't in quite the same ballpark - but it's providing a warm welcome and opportunities to become involved as well as learn and worship.

Thanks to the Internet, especially Facebook, I'm still in touch with a great group of friends at Mt Olive, and will always appreciate their fellowship and friendship.
