April Showers, May Flowers

While the slow turn into spring seems to have finally taken hold up here in parts of the upper Midwest - it's come upon us with such stealth that even in the midst of some glorious 70 degree days (two out of the last three!) it is spoken of in whispers, in case we might somehow bring winter chill by speaking with too much glee.

The flowers are beginning to bloom.

The grass is turning into a brilliant emerald, almost neon, green.

There's the first day of walking out the door without a coat, and sunglasses firmly in place.

The robins are busy building their nests.

Spring sports don't induce mind and limb numbing chill watching the games of 'summer.'

It's not just the visible indications either, it's a feeling in the air.  Maybe it's freedom or relaxation or just the ability to take a breath as you know that the sun isn't going to set within an hour of arriving home after work.

We've had lots of rain up here - as has much of the Midwest - my friends in Indiana have received an ark full of rain this month.

So, it's time to get ready for a full bouquet of spring flowers... tomorrow!
