Into the Woods

It's starting to happen, imperceptible perhaps, but under the surface, below the snow, in the soil, seeds are getting ready to erupt from a winter's slumber.

Animals sleeping snug through the cold are beginning to respond to longer days and warmer sunshine.

Beneath a layer of snow, trees and bushes are nearly ready to bud and soon after leaf out in emerald splendor.

But not yet.

There are snow flurries and some light snows this week; cold and cloudy days in the forecast; but inside our heads and hearts, we know spring is coming.

There are not many obvious signs - so far, no signs around here of daffodils breaking through and shining the golden bonnets in the warm March sun.

So, we wait - warm days are coming - so let's put on our boots, gloves, and a smile and go hunting for spring.

It's out there.

Somewhere in the woods.
