A Path to Spring

This cold morning - freshly coated with a new layer of snow - the vernal equinox arrived.

In Latin, equinox means equal light.  Twelve hours of sun, twelve of dark.

As we start the march toward the beginning of summer, each day will tilt the balance with a little more light than dark each day.

The further north you go, the more the see-saw tilts until the northernmost reaches where you can have a day full of light.

That's good news, since we'll need that sun to melt all this snow.

The just finished season of winter was an adventure... more snow and colder temperatures were finally good for winter sport nuts... but as the sun shines (on a very cold day, by the way) it's time to move on.

Time for baseball, picnics, Frisbee, croquet, lazy days fishing along the river, and mile after mile riding my bike.

Now, do you have a shovel so we clear this path towards spring?
