30 - 40 - 50 +++

Winter isn't over.  Not yet, anyway.

Maybe as much as ten more inches is supposed to fall by the end of the day.

Last year at this time, I'm told some locals were out riding bikes on trails.  This year, there are some 'hard core' winter cyclists braving (??) tough road conditions and freezing temperatures; no, I'm not one of them.

The good news is we need the moisture in whatever form it is, and then we need a slow spring warm up so the snow melt comes methodically and gives the opportunity for our soil to take a long, slow drink.

The men and women who drive our snow plows deserve some kudos for their work this year - given the hours they are expected to work it is likely nearly true that some could 'literally' drive their routes with their eyes closed.

Thank you!

So far, I'm continuing to enjoy the run of winter and constant snow on the ground since the December snow storm (it was down to a few big piles before a January storm), but it is March and I'd like to be on my bike in four weeks.

This could be a perfect send-off snow storm, after all the Boys State Basketball Tournament starts on Thursday.
