Pitchers and Catchers Report

I was dreaming about this day during January - one of the first indications that spring is on the doorstep getting ready to walk inside.

Of course, April in Wisconsin can have some iffy weather days - so it's nice that the home of the Brewers has a roof it can slide into place if it's too cold or too wet from rain or snow.

When we lived up north, five hours away from the stadium, it was a comfort to know that when you headed to the Ballpark there would be a game to see that day.

In the course of attending games through the years, I can only recall one rain delay in Cincinnati as the Brewers took on the Reds.  We had superb seats for such an event, as our seats allowed for all-you-can-eat at no additional charge, so when it rained just a few steps put us in from the weather and able to enjoy all the ballpark food we wanted.  It was a good timing for the home team too, as the delay started at the bottom of the sixth.

The timing is crucial, because the team stopped selling alcohol when the seventh inning started - there must have been about an hour of extra sales before the game resumed and the Brewers held on for the win.

Now that I'm less than two hours of the stadium, the optimistic plan is to get to a number of games this year to root, root, root for the home team.

It's difficult to predict how the season will go, but I'm filled with high hopes as the promise of 162 games await.

April 1st is opening day - Go, Brewers!
