It's Summer!

15:22:14 hours of daylight - Summer Solstice - the first day of Summer.

If you want to take advantage of every second, you may not need an alarm clock if your bedroom faced east.  Twilight began at 4:42 AM, sunrise just a short time after summer arrives at 5:17.

Sunset is 8:39 PM Central Daylight Time and it is dark by 9:14.

Tomorrow will be three seconds shorter.  Two days from now seven seconds shorter than the day before, by the end of the month we will lose 35 seconds.  So it goes until the Winter Solstice.

Brilliant sunshine
Warm and long days beckon.
Can I take today off?

Called Days
They are called lazy
hazy
Care-free
treasured and wasted.

Summer days last long
but fade into
distant memories
too fast.

Days to ride
to swim, to dream,
to work and to love.

54 Summers
I spent some of my summers
Attending vacation bible school
Riding my bike
Staying with Grandpa & Grandma
Working part-time
Working full-time
Playing baseball at "Stump Weed Memorial Stadium"
Catching Lightning Bugs
Shooting fire works
And thinking about what I used to do on earlier summer days.
