It seems ironic the solstice bringing in our longest day starts with a long stretch of black.
...a melting ice cream cone.
...needing to shower after your shower.
...a season which arrives too late
and leaves too early.
A favorite summer memory is from a bike ride in 1980 on the Elroy-Sparta trail. It was a warm day when I noticed a soda machine behind a house just off the path. It was an older machine with glass bottles of Pepsi inside. I paid for the bottle, popped off the cap, and enjoyed it, shoes off and toes in a tiny stream .
Summer memories happen when you least expect it. While the memory may occur on your epic vacation, it's as likely to sneak up while sipping lemonade under the shade of a backyard tree.
Enjoy your summer!
