Wedding Day

Then the man said,
     "This at last is bone of my bones
           and flesh of my flesh;
      she shall be called Woman,
          because she was taken out of Man."
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.   Genesis 2: 23 - 24

32 years ago today, I married my wife.

It was exciting and nerve-wracking.  Standing in front of the church peering up the center aisle, dozens of thoughts went through my mind, "Am I ready?"  "Who is this person?" "What in the world are we doing!"

She had to be thinking the same thing.

Unknown to us was a path from Iowa to South Dakota where we found our first child.  A move to Wisconsin where #2 was born and we spent the next 15 years.  From there on to Indiana, where kids grew up and left the nest.

There were a succession of good to better jobs interrupted by two intervals between jobs.

A bunch of cars replacing the AMC Pacer we drove on our Kansas City honeymoon.

We were so young, we didn't know what we didn't know.

Ours is a journey with an abundance of blessings, even if we didn't have an abundance of riches.

Our Lord knew our path to here and the path of our tomorrows.  What a blessing to realize as we begin year 33.
