Packers Memo : 3 - 1 at Quarter Pole

Four games into the season and Green Bay is 3 and 1.

It hasn't always been pretty, and sometimes (like last night) there were parts which seemed just plain weird!

The opening Packer drive was a thing of beauty, while they burned 8 minutes from the clock and capped it with Jordy Nelson picking Aaron Rodger's pass off the turf in the end zone for an early lead.

The New York Giants managed 2 field goals in the first half, while the Packers got another touchdown and a field goal for a 17 - 6 lead.

Eddie Lacy did a nice job running the ball and the Green Bay offensive line kept Rodgers clean in an impressive performance.

Rodgers had one pass to Nelson deflect off Jordy's hand for one interception and threw a second pick later to the same Giants player.

Green Bay's defense rose up to keep the mistakes from being too painful and managed a strip sack of Eli Manning which led to the Packer's field goal before the half.

Both defensive teams played well after the break.  New York scored a touchdown on pass to the back of the end zone with almost 3 minutes left to play.

Green Bay held on to the ball after that, securing the clinching first down on a Rodger's pass to Randall Cobb who put in a strong receiving performance.

I credit the O-line and a tough defense playing short-handed for an important win at home.

Next up, the Dallas Cowboys come to town.  Whoa Nellie, that will be something to see.... Go Pack!

Meanwhile, in Louisville, Kentucky - my sister ran her third IRONMAN yesterday and completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike race, and 26.2 mile run.  Congrats, Danielle!
