Game 7 - Atlanta

The seven Packers who didn't play yesterday were guys we usually expect to on the field:  Clay Matthews (LB), Demarious Randall (CB), Quinton Rollins (CB), Ty Montgomery (WR), Randall Cobb (WR), James Starks (RB), and Jared Cook (TE).

It was a great effort, but came up one point short with Atlanta winning 33 - 32 after they engineered a touchdown drive with a couple minutes on the clock, leaving 30 seconds for Aaron Rodgers.

It wasn't to be, but in the loss we saw the best performance out of Rodgers this season and some growth in the offensive personality which started to reveal itself in the win over the Bears.

The defense needed at least one more stop and the offense needed one more scoring drive.

For that, I'd choose Green Bay's drive to open the second half. They scored a field goal at the end of the first half with the kick coming after intermission.

That drive was bogged down with a couple of penalties and we had to punt.

Atlanta took the lead.  Green Bay responded with a scoring drive and 2 point conversion.  Just too much time on the clock for Atlanta; not enough left over for us.

The bright side was completed TD passes to Jeff Janis, Geronimo Allison, and Trevor Davis - three guys who weren't on the field much this season so far - and Davis' electrifying 49 yard punt return.

I liked the offensive effort with fewer dead spots during the game; it's something to build on.

The Pack falls to 4 - 3 with a flight back home to face the Indianapolis Colts next Sunday afternoon.

Then it's on the road for 3 straight; if this team can get a couple guys back and match the intensity they showed in Atlanta, I like this team's chances,  Seven games down - nine to go; the Pack needs to win at least 6 and 7 would be much better.

Go Pack, Go!
