A Sad Housewarming Gift - Packer Notes

It was a tight and hard-fought game, but ultimately a big disappointment in week 2 for the Green Bay Packers who fell to the proud new homeowners 17 - 14 in Minneapolis.

Packer fans and coaches were mostly worried about running back Adrian Peterson, who seems to own the Green Bay defense, but he was held in check and hobbled off the field with what looks like a serious injury.

From my viewpoint, the early issues seemed to indicate the arrow pointing the right direction for the Pack.  On their first series, a Packer fumble  was wrestled out of the hands of the Viking defender and back in possession of Randall Cobb.

Aaron Rodgers connected with Jordy Nelson for the first score in US Bank Stadium history after Green Bay blocked a Minnesota punt.

The Vikings went into the half up 3, but it looked to me like the Packers could get their act together and prevail.

While the Green Bay defense played well for the most part, with 4 sacks, they couldn't take the ball away and were ultimately hurt by the passing game at the hands of Sam Bradford who wasn't even a Viking three weeks ago.

It was impossible to overcome one of the toughest nights of Aaron Rodger's career (3 fumbles, 1 lost, and an interception that effectively sealed the game).

Searching for a bright spot here, and I'll go with the collective energy displayed by the Packer's defense.  I'm concerned about the injuries to Morgan Burnett, a defensive leader at Safety, and LeTroy Guion on the defensive line.

There are 14 games left to play, starting with Sunday at noon in Green Bay's home opener hosting the Lions from Detroit.

The team gets the following week off and it's important to enter the bye week with a victory.
