Even for the groundhogs, it might feel like "Groundhog Day."
Last year, Jimmy the Groundhog got hungry when he was supposed to be whispering his forecast to Mayor Freund.
As you might guess, the newcomer lost his job. I think he's trying to get a job as a weather forecast in a smaller market further north.
A new Jimmy steps in this year with the enviable position of very low expectations. If he doesn't bite the Mayor's ear, he's a success!
In terms of the forecast, maybe low expectations are also a good way to go. My plan is to assume spring is at least six, if not seven, weeks in the future.
Shadow or not, we know spring will show up.
