Veterans Day

It's a good day to fly the flag and say thank you.

Thank you to veterans who served our country while on active duty and after returning home.

Thank you to the men and women currently serving - whether their post is here in the United States or down range.

Thank you to their families - the husbands and wives, children, moms and dads, aunts and uncles - who are on a duty of their own in protecting our nation.

Sadly, there are times when our gratitude isn't expressed well or, worse, not shared at all.

Whether service came by way of a draft or as volunteers - the service and sacrifice merits many thanks from each of us.

In my job, it's a pleasure to meet older men and women who served during World War II.  Their experiences are humbling story to hear.  Extraordinary Americans answering the call, placing the rest of us ahead of their own ambition.

All gave some; some gave all.

Each deserves our enduring thanks.
