HHFFRRRGGH... Huh?

Ha -farrrrr - guh.

Well, at least that is what our server said was the way to pronounce the name of HHFFRRRGGH Inn.

The server told us the name is tied into the language/heritage featured in Steve Martin's movie, "A Man with Two Brains." That couldn't be confirmed, but the story works for me.

It also could be a collection of initials of folks involved in starting the restaurant that came over from the old country.

If you can't pronounce it, you can still find it near Janesville, Wisconsin.

Take the Highway 11 exit off I 90/39 Interstate and head east about a mile and you will find it sitting along the south side of the road where it intersects Wuthering Hills Road.

My visits have been for lunch on Saturdays, usually walking in as their weekend brunch overlaps with lunch service.

Janesville east of the Interstate was pretty much non-existent when I grew up there.  Now the area just north of the HHFFRRRGGH is where there are all kind of ball diamonds, soccer fields, and a couple set up for lacrosse.

It's a great location.  Close to the highway for travelers and a nice neighborhood spot for people who live nearby.

Lunch choices include their PTC (Pretzel bun, turkey, and cheddar cheese) and their California Burger with Angus beef.  I enjoyed both, and frankly, I don't think anything can be bad when pretzel bread is involved!

You can enjoy the games anywhere in the place as large flat screen TVs are easy to see while not overwhelming the room if the occasion is more of a family meal than a trip out with the gang.

There are great black and white photos on the walls that pay homage to local high school teams as well as the Badgers and Pack.

Live music comes in on the weekends when the crowd is probably a bit more lively.  The comfortable atmosphere makes it a great spot for lunch or dinner anytime.

Hhave a Ggreat time!
