D Lux

Thanks to an Anniversary gift that sat on our fridge for a couple of months, a trip to another of Madison's interesting and slightly quirky restaurants was made recently.

DLux is a great name for a burger 'joint' that's anything but a joint.

All the entries on the menu are burgers, meaning there are two buns surrounding the meat or vegetable.  Each burger is $8, sides not included.

The fries are great, the potato chips home made, and the milk shakes tremendous.  We didn't try their kegged cocktails; given the choice I'll always go for an honest to goodness milk shake.

I enjoyed a toasted marshmallow milk shake, complete with actual toast marshmallows.  I think it was the first time in years that I've enjoyed a toasted marshmallow.  Yum!

There were many more fries served than what made it to the plate for the picture, I already had eaten about half of them.

The interior is very cool with some classically retro pictures on the walls and a tasteful interior that makes the room feel quiet and cozy, no matter how many guests are inside.

It's just off Capitol Square on Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd with access to a parking garage on the same block and street parking nearby.  It was a perfect place to wrap up the weekend, and with great tasting food like we enjoyed... we'll be back!
