Heading into the Weekend - SURPRISE

The day before the weekend is supposed to tap you lightly on the shoulder and whisper into your ear in the morning, 'Hey sleepy head, it's Friday. You don't have to go to work, you can bang on the drum all day.'

Not this morning.  Today is the day we sent #2 son back to Indiana on an early ride aboard the MegaBus.

Alarms were set with care last night.  I woke up around 3:45, looked at the clock, and closed my eyes knowing the alarm was set to go off at 4:15.

Next thing I knew, my eyes opened and it was 4:30!

AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Everybody, GET UP!

Fortunately, Mark was ready and we were able to hurriedly dress and be out the door by 4:40, trying to be 15 minutes for the bus scheduled to leave at 5:15.  We got there and then waited for the bus.

About 5:20, the lovely wife asked if I knew this is where the bus would be picking up passengers.  Not sure, I got out of the car and looked around.  There, roughly two blocks away across an ocean of snow and parking spaces, stood two white coach buses.

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!  Mark, let's go!

We ran and walked fast - suitcase in tow toward the buses - hoping we looked intent enough they wouldn't leave him behind.  Rhonda, much smarter, drove behind to catch up.

The buses didn't move, Mark checked in and took an upper level front row seat and (I think) promptly fell back to sleep.  We reloaded into the car, watched the bus pull away, and headed back home amidst falling flakes of snow to dress and begin an early Friday workday.

Whew - sure glad it's the weekend!
