Rainy Day - Beautiful Gardens

You really can't complain about a rainy day when the region is in the midst of a drought - so, we took the opportunity to visit the outdoors on the inside of the Bolz Conservatory and outside of Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Madison's east side today.

The Conservatory is a wonderful tropical oasis under glass with flowers, plants, and birds that provide a little trip out of the dreary midwest October weather today.

Also on the inside the annual Quilt Show showing nature incorporated into pretty designs in fabric.

Then we took a trip on the tram around the exterior gardens - highlighted by a Thai building that was given to Madison in recognition for the instruction many Thai students received at the University of Wisconsin.
It was a wonderful way to spend the day, of course made better by the fact the Badgers took care of the Boilermakers while visiting rainy and dreary Ross-Ade Stadium (the dreariness because of the rain, I've been in attendance three times and it's a very nice place to watch a game and tailgate).

If you haven't been there yet, you should go.  Then plan to go again next spring when the curtain goes up on the spring flowers.  It will be another great show!
