A Big Day

July 26, 2012

It's a big day - and not just because there is free tea at McAllister's Deli today (although that is a slight factor) and DQ is selling Blizzards and helping the Miracle Children's Network at the same time.  So, somebody should be buzzin' around with lots of energy this afternoon.

My day is big because there are a couple of appointments on the agenda for today that are quite important to LHSI and our students.  One of the very cool experiences in working here is seeing the opportunities available to others to make a real difference in the lives of students.

Just a simple gift does that.  Sometimes, its a single gift - or the gift of several people working together to reach a common goal.  This summer, lots of work is happening on campus as we prepare for the start of school on August 8th.  New carpet and tile is going down and paint is going up.  It is looking pretty sharp around here, indeed.

I really enjoy seeing that come together and its been my privilege to be part of it.  One way is through the Adopt - a - Saint program.  In it donors 'adopt' a student and make an individual difference in helping provide much needed financial assistance.   There's always room for more help.

Last year, more families applied for assistance than we were able to assist.  So gift to the Adopt - a - Saint program makes a difference by making a LHSI education accessible to more students and their families.

Yes, there is more to do - and today's appointments will hopefully be blessed with success and some additional funding - so a few more students can enroll and gear up for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.

Topping all of the financial gifts we receive - we dearly appreciate the prayer support offered each day for our students (returning and new enrollees), faculty, and staff.  Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!
